The Pearl Music Company is a large musical instrument manufacturer from Japan. Pearl Drum Sets are the most widely used drum sets today. The company started out with two employees in 1952 making music stands. Ten years later, Pearl was experiencing rapid growth and was producing basic drum sets, marching drums, concert drums, cymbals, and accessories for the Japanese market. The company continued to quickly expand and currently has manufacturing plants in the United States, Taiwan, and Japan, serving the global marketplace with Pearl drums.
Pearl currently offer eight series of drums, ranging from beginner kits to professional quality sets. Their most basic kit is the Rhythm Traveler which utilities smaller drums with mesh heads and cymbal mutes. They offer the Target and Forum series of Pearl drums for beginner players. The Vision series is the Pearl Drums intermediate offering. This replaces both the discontinued Session series and the Export series, which was the best selling drum set of all time. There are four professional quality Pearl drum sets: Masters Custom, Masters Premium, Reference, and Masterworks. The Masterworks series is pearls flagship model. Almost every aspect of the kit is customizable by the customer as the drum set is hand manufactured and can include exotic wood.
